MOU Signed to Open New Air Routes and Strengthen Algeria-Tunisia Cooperation

On August 11, 2024, Algeria and Tunisia signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of the Director of the National Civil Aviation Agency, Hassan Boulefelfel, and his Tunisian counterpart, aimed at opening new avenues for air cooperation between the two countries.

The memorandum includes an increase in the number of weekly flights to 30 passenger flights between the capitals, in addition to 14 flights to other destinations and 10 cargo flights for each country, reflecting both countries’ commitment to enhancing air connectivity and meeting the growing demand for mobility.

It also includes a new code-sharing mechanism between national airlines, providing wider travel options for passengers and improving the efficiency of air operations.

Furthermore, the agreement covers other areas of cooperation, including technical and regulatory aspects, to ensure improved air services and sustainability in the sector.

This step confirms the strategic relationship between Algeria and Tunisia, contributing to strengthening economic and cultural cooperation between the two peoples, while supporting efforts for regional integration.
